Case Report Journal Finder

Finding the right research journal for your case report can be difficult. Here at the Researcher's Journal of Internal Medicine, we're not just about building a free and open-access medical journal, we're about building a broader low-cost and open-access publishing ecosystem. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are on a mission to make publishing research more accessible. To serve our mission, we built this tool to help connect researchers with open and accessible opportunites to publish case reports in peer reviewed research journals. Subsequently, this tool is designed for clinicians, especially trainees, to help them identify open, ethical, and cost-conscious journals for their clinical case reports.

How it works

Enter a few details about your case report: such as specialty, case type, and your approximate APC budget. The tool then compares this information to a curated list of journals that publish case reports and returns a small set of options that may be a reasonable fit.

The Data

This data is a combination of data from the Directory of Open Access Journals, SciMago Journal Rankings, OpenAlex, Crossref, MEDLINE (which relates to PubMed indexing), previous data, and journal websites. These have culminated in a repository of over 1,000 research journals. You will find that not all data is available, and there may be errors. If you notice any errors or would like to suggest another journal, please use the form at the bottom of this page. Please refer to journal websites for the most up to date information regarding their policies and costs. You can also contact us with any questions or concerns.

Best of luck publishing your case report!
